Renuka – Covid+ – Currently on Ventilator
A request for bed from critical patient came to the team like any other on May 9. When the team called back, we found that the Patient has been moved to ventilator in a pvt hospital but the family couldn’t afford it and requested us to keep looking for a bbmp bed. The team kept in touch. When @Kishlay on May 11 called, the family was in a desperate situation begging for financial help as they couldn’t pay the expenses and even saying they would have to unplug the patient as hospital is asking for money and they don’t have. This was escalated within bbmp channels requesting for help for Karnataka State Police Constable. Many promises made but none materialized.
After pooling all resources, the family needed more money to clear the bills. Kislay has helped the family set up a fund raiser to clear the bills. She is on her recovering path.. and hoping to see her back and joining her family soon
Really can’t thank our volunteers enough for managing crowds and distributing with love and compassion. We served 850 lunches today, cumulatively 8130 meals. Thanks to all the supporting teams, Aadi Nagaraj, Team Each one feed one for sponsoring the meals.
Meal Distribution Drive(18-May-2021)
Queue for food keeps on growing. Today even before the food distribution volunteer team reached, people had lined up already for the meals. We were a little short of numbers and volunteers were distressed that a few people who stood in the sun, in the queue couldn’t be served. We are further upping the number to 1000 meals from tomm. Let no one go hungry.
Berna – is back home
